How do we effectively integrate and improve our products to drive better outcomes for our customers?

I believe it starts with a well thought out product strategy framework and to build an effective framework, we must first understand the various stages of a SaaS based Product Journey.

A modern product journey evolves in stages, with each playing a critical role in moving an opportunity from idea to launch.

Lets expand this notion of a modern product journey into a “whole of product” approach, or what I call, a product strategy process, which not only looks at development, but takes an expanded view of the broader product lifecycle.

Great success starts with a great strategy, and the Product Strategy Process attempts to lay out a framework for great product strategy, it outlines 6-steps, each designed to generate maximum customer value with minimum friction.

Each of these steps builds upon one another, and can sets us on a path of least resistance to effectively drive better outcomes for our customers. We must empower our company to successfully execute each step.

Step 1 is a two part process, for integrations we’ll start by defining our users and products, then defining specific product goals. For non-integrations we’ll start by defining product goals.
Next we discover opportunities, followed by implementing improvements, and promoting these new experiences. We finish the process with continuous analysis and optimization.
